About Lindemans Winery
It is fair to say that Lindemans is one of Australia’s most famous and historical wine brands. Established in 1843 by Henry Lindeman, the first vines were planted at Cawarra in South Australia. However, Lindemans is probably more famous for the Hunter Valley wines it started producing from its own vineyards planted in 1953. Even today, the Hunter River Burgundy reds from the 60s and 70s are deemed as some of the best and most collectable wines Australia has ever produced. Today, Lindemans is a large wine brand with tentacles that have stretched far and wide to various Australian wine regions. It has wineries in three locations: Coonawarra, Murray Darling and Hunter Valley, and produce a whopping 7-million cases per year. Making wines in both sparkling and table wine styles, the wine team fashion everything from the good value, easy drinking Bin 65 Chardonnay right through to the iconic Lindemans ‘Trio’ reds – Limestone Ridge, Pyrus and the renown St George.
