  • James Halliday says:

Moderately strong purple-crimson; has an expressive bouquet with warm spices and licorice, then an attractive medium-bodied palate with blackberry fruit and a powerful reprise of the bouquet's spice and licorice to the fore.

    Ray Jordan says:

Beautiful aroma of spicy savoury dark plum with a little nutmeg and clove complexity. The palate is generous and ample with a smooth texture. The tannins are fine and silky with the fine grained oak deliberately understated. A wine for drinking over the next few years.

    Ray Jordan (2011 Vintage) says:

Crowd pleasing red wine busting with rich dark fruit. The nose explodes of spicy plums and blackberry with a light touch of cedary oak. The palate is generous and full with lush ripe fruit flavours balanced by a neat touch of oak. Luscious sweet middle plate with a slightly savoury finish shows excellent balance.

    James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says:

Vivid purple-red; Margaret River had yet another top class vintage in stark contrast to the problems of the rain sodden-eastern mainland; no surprise then to find a fragrant and juicy mix or red cherry, spice, licorice and peper; there is a hint of oak (American) and fine, silky tannins on the finish. Top value. 14% alc.

    James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says:

Crimson hue; a lively and vibrant light- to medium-bodied shiraz with spice, red fruits and fine tannins all hopping on the roundabout; enjoyable wine.

    Ray Jordan (2007 Vintage) says:

Punches way beyond its weight. Savoury vanillin and stewed plum and lavender characters on the nose. The soft palate is brimming with ripe generous and remarkable supple fruit. Long finish a feature of a great value for money wine.

    James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says:

Fresh redcurrant, spice and quite lifted; medium-bodied, with good flavour and persistence on the finish.

    Ray Jordan (2005 Vintage) says:

Definitely picked up over the past 12 months. Seductive and perfumed aromas of plum and black cherry with savoury spicy characters. The palate is rich and full with some assertive tannins and oak. Good fruit intensity. A wine that will continue to benefit from a few more years in the cellar.

    James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says:

Light to medium-bodied; good mouthfeel from ripe but fine tannins running throughout; a nice mix of ripe and more savoury fruit.
