2011 Printhie Mountain Range Sauvignon Blanc
2013 Philip Shaw No. 19 Sauvignon Blanc
- Printhie make wines as dramatic and as impressive as the surrounding mountain ranges. This is their reserve label and the result of finding specially selected sites and matching varieties that suit. Sauvignon Blanc from Orange is soaring in terms of quality and Printhie are leading the way. This is intensely aromatic with passionfruit, citrus and some cut grass characters. It’s concentrated and fresh with good texture and weight and clean acids on the long finish. 90
- Unmistakably sauvignon blanc in aroma and flavour. Intense, lifted fruit in the passionfruit, floral, citrus spectrum with a cut grass edge to it. Mid-palate weight and texture adds interest. Balanced acidity provides freshness and length. Dry, clean finish.
Nick Stock (2010 Vintage) says:“
Orange is showing promise with these simple, unwooded whites, trading on the region's cool climate to deliver pristine, crisp whites. This smells of tropical-fruit sherbet, some lime citrus and herbs. The palate's more melon and tropical flavours, and finishes with attractive, crisp acid kick.
