  • The bouquet displays White Hills’ typical black cherry aromas overlaid by floral notes. The palate shows sweet, plummy fruit supported by some quite firm tannins. Age 1-3 years and serve in a big glass to capture the perfume.

Food Match: Crusty French loaf with brie or young camembert; Grilled salmon with prosciutto and bocconcini.

  • Nick Stock says:

A consistent style for those who like their Pinot Noir less fragrant and more burly _ the oak and savoury elements here dominate the fruit without remorse. The palate s more dry red than Pinot Noir, with ripe flavours and quite hard, chewy tannins. Hard to see the appeal and certainly out in the stylistic wilderness.

    Nick Stock (2008 Vintage) says:

This shows a savoury approach to early drinking pinot, with nice brightness, no oak and some earthy nuances across red fruits. The palate has a lighter feel with a gentle, supple tannin profile, very even and balanced, no oak and plenty of cnarm

    James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says:

Fresh red cherry and strawberry fruit; very attractive wine for immediate consumption.

    James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says:

Made in early developing style, but with good fruit concentration and weight, with a little bit of forest to add interest.

    James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says:

Bright red-purple; a light- to medium-bodied wine with red cherry and plum fruit; fine tannins appear on the back palate and finish; good length.

Huon Hooke & Ralph Kyte-Powell (2005 Vintage) says:

A very juicy, brightly coloured Cru-beaujolais-style red with an intense nose of raspberries and red cherries uncomplicated by apparent wood or winemaking artefact. The palate is straightforward with light, clean flavours that aren't very complex, but varietally correct and very fresh. It finishes soft and easy. Serve it with veal sausages and onions.
