      • The Houghton white classic has been like an old friend to Aussies for years. For many, they lost their wine virginity to the Houghton white classic, and today it still offers value 'bang for your buck'. It's citrusy and tropical fruit salad on the nose, whilst the palate is light-bodied and thirst quenching with mouth-watering lemon acidity pushing towards a relatively dry finish. It's perfect any time of day.

      • Pale straw in colour with a youthful green tinge, this wine exhibits brilliant clarity. The nose displays intense and lifted aromatics of fresh lemon citrus, mandarin and tropical characters of pineapple and melon with light floral notes. The palate is light and refreshing with tropical fruit flavours of pineapple, guava and passionfruit complemented by juicy citrus acidity providing length.
      • James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says:

The forerunner to Margaret River Classic Dry White, with sauvignon blanc, semillon, chardonnay, chenin blanc and verdelho all likely contributors to the blend; vibrant fruit salad flavours on its well-balanced, long palate and fresh finish.

        Ray Jordan (2010 Vintage) says:

A slightly more fruit driven and punchy version of this West Australian classic. Chock full of tropical fruit with a crunchy slice of lemon adding some zip on the finish. A wine that will cellar beautifully over a further five to eight years.

        Ray Jordan's 2011 WA Wine Guide 2011

        James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says:

Brisk and lively, the varietal mix a long way away from that of 40 years ago; clearly sauvignon blanc has invaded the once semi-secret recipe, increasing its drinkability now, but not in the future.

        Australian Wine Companion 2011 2010

        Ray Jordan (2009 Vintage) says:

Another thoroughly engaging example of this famous wine. The name changed a few years ago but the wine remains true to its origins. A marvellously delicate and flavoursome wine that will age beautifully. Look out for the Museum release 2002 which is a stunner and great value at $32.

        Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says:

An attractive, easy-drinking young wine with a fresh, lightly candied and grassy fragrance of passionfruit and tropical fruits. It's generous and quite elegant, delivering a pleasing length of juicy, vibrant fruit before a clean, refreshing finish with just a little sweetness.

        Ray Jordan (2007 Vintage) says:

The famous blue stripe is still there but the name was changed a few years ago. It's still basically a Swan Valley chenin, which you can drink as a fresh youngster or keep in the cellar for many years. This is a terrific wine with a lingering fine intensity sustained with a fine acid.

        Ray Jordan's 2009 WA Wine Guide 2009

        Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says:

Tropical, passionfruit-like and lightly grassy aromas precede a juicy, vibrant and early-drinking palate whose attractive bright fruit finishes with clean acids and a faint lingering sweetness.
