2014 Mystery 96 Point Premium Barossa Shiraz
Additional Cases: $0
While we can't say too much about the identity of this wine without giving the game away, we can let slip that it comes from a small producer on the up - one who we've sold a lot of wine from over the last 12 months.
For this wine, they've pulled out all the stops, crafting an epic Barossa Shiraz. Open-fermented, basket-pressed, and matured for a monster 24 months in American oak, it is a heroic red made in a style of Barossa big boys like Grant Burge Meshach or Peter Lehmann Stonewell. We're talking about a flagship wine here.
While it was only released a month or so back, it already has the points to back up the intention, with 96 points from one international wine critic who praised the 'extraordinary complexity'.
A massive Shiraz with big flavours of mocha oak and dark berry fruit, we can see why it gained the high score too.100
- This full-bodied Shiraz is purple-crimson in colour with rich aromas of raspberries, plums, spice and dark chocolate. The velvety smooth palate has hints of mocha, vanilla and pepper, finishing off with spice.
