2015 Knappstein Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Additional Cases: $0
- Clare Valley is famous for its big, robust Cabernet Sauvignons and this is no exception with its deep colour, plump mulberry and blackcurrant fruits in a full-bodied package. With some firm tannins it is a wine built for steak, and a big one at that! 80
- This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine aromatically displays sweet red berries and darker fruits supported by classic leafy notes and a savoury meat-like element. The palate is led by pure, dark blackberry flavours with red fruits playing a highlighting role.
The Wine Front (2012 Vintage) says:“
Winemaker Glenn Barry is getting the Knappstein house back in order. Shop around - you'll readily find this tucked neatly under the $20 mark. Black fruits, chocolate, nougat and mint. Medium bodied, savoury tobacco and black olive, has richness and dark fruit combined with grippy tannin and a long dry finish. Very firm dense savoury wine. Needs time. Serious wine and serious value. Gary Walsh.
