      • Taylors have stepped outside of the Clare Valley for this Pinot Noir, using grapes from the Adelaide Hills and WA's Great Southern to craft this particularly savoury wine. Leafy, dry and crisp, this is a super elegant sort of Pinot that just demands some sort of duck. Roast duck? Yes please!

      • Layered flavours of red cherry, spice and plum are superbly balanced with French oak, giving length to the finish.

Colour: At release, the wine is a bright red with a vibrant purple hue

Bouquet: The wine has lifted strawberry and cherry notes with an underlying savoury earthiness and restrained spice and cedar characters

Palate: The wine is medium-bodied with flavours of ripe cherry and fresh, light red berry fruits along with savoury toast and sweet spice characters. The palate is sublimely soft and silky. Subtle oak characters of cinnamon and cedar add to the overall complexity of this fruit-driven wine

Cellaring notes: This wine can be enjoyed upon release but will reward careful cellaring up to and possibly beyond 2020

        Alc/vol: 14.4%

Great colour; has much flavour, but is on the tannic side and should have been picked earlier and fined more enthusiastically. May improve in bottle.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2008 Vintage) says:

Good clobber. Lots of spicy, semi-sour, cherry-plummed fruit flavour matched to rubs of eucalypt and toast. It's bunched with tannin and it's relatively full-flavoured for a pinot noir, but it's ripe, true to the variety and offers pretty decent drinking.

        James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says:

Well made; some Clare dry red characters, but the Adelaide Hills wins the day. Rich, with much to offer the casual pinot drinker, at a fair price.

The winemakers have really worked miracles with this, especially the line and length of the palate, and the finish.
