      • If you've been collecting wine for 20 years or more, Virgin Hills is a winery that needs no introduction. For everyone else, your cellar is missing a part of Australian wine history.
Founded by Hungarian-born sculptor and restaurateur Tom Lazar, Virgin Hills is an enigma of Australian wine. Located high up in the Macedon Ranges, what makes this estate almost mystical is that it has only ever produced a single wine style.
An unusual, full-bodied, ultra cool climate red blend that varies each and every year. Made up of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and even Pinot Noir, the Virgin Hills red is renowned for its perfect balance and almost infinite cellaring potential.
All this, on a site that is snowy, frost-prone and about as marginal as you'll get. It is the razor edge nature of this vineyard that has helped make it's reputation, as some of Australia's top critics can attest.
'When asked, to which vineyard would you point a French wine expert if you wanted to impress him or her with the capacity of Australia to produce a consistently fine wine over a decade? My answer in all probability would be Virgin Hills.' James Halliday.
'Virgin Hills has long held a special place in the hearts of many wine lovers, especially the breed that like to seek out obscure and hard to get.' Huon Hooke, Sydney Morning Herald.
'An unforgettable, perfect red wine. I asked him what it was, but I should have guessed. Virgin Hills, 1975.' Jeremy Oliver on tasting some back vintage Virgin Hills Wines.
'Virgin Hills' ability to produce consistently fine wine for over a decade has earned it an icon status.' James Halliday.
Like most cult wines, you'll rarely find Virgin Hills in bottle shops. If you're lucky, you might find a bottle or two gracing the aged and rare section of wine lists in some of Australia's best restaurants. But even then seeing one is an anomaly, and they're quickly scooped up by those in the know.
And this is what makes today's offer so compelling.
For a lucky few, we have capitalised on a recent change of ownership and managed to secure a parcel of perfectly aged wines from the family's private cellar. Spanning six different vintages from the legendary 1998 vintage through 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2005, and completed with the (still very youthful) 2007, this Virgin Hills Cellar Selection Mixed Pack offers a chance to experience the mystique of this famed producer for yourself.
If you could get your hands on these, you'd be paying up to $90/bottle for the privilege, and the whole pack has an RRP of $436. As part of our 6th birthday celebrations, however, I am very proud to be able to offer you this incredibly rare six pack for an amazing price.
This is a unique opportunity to secure some of the last bottles of these scarce and collectible wines, all stored in the cellar since release. Quite simply, they will never be offered again. If you want to be one of the lucky few who get to share this experience, I'd recommend that you dive in very quickly indeed.
