Wine Enthusiast says
A closed, austere wine; more solid than fruity, showing very firm tannins. There is a pronounced smoky character as well, with cigar box aromas and toasty flavors. What is certain is that this wine—racy and not too heavy—will develop slowly. Imported by Diageo Chateau & Estates.
Mike Bennie says
Ripeness consumes the bouquet, but it’s bright and fresh in its own, rich, ripe way. Berry fruit, choc-berry scents, touch of licorice and spice. Ample and rich to taste, touch of meat and game chiming in, finishes with leafiness and light, sandy tannins. Fleshy wine, lots to sink teeth into, fruit feels balanced and length is good too. Good result.
