2009 Red Bike Barossa Shiraz Grenache Mataro

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This is Murray Street Vineyards 'The Barossa' 2009 wine, with their export label on the front of the bottle. An epic coup for us here at Cracka! on release, this wine was a monster. A big rich brooding beast. Tear ya teeth out kind of stuff. with a bit of time at the Murray Street Vineyards cellar, it is now as smooth as silk, coming into the sum of its parts perfectly.

The big 15% alcohol has settled, its integrated sensationally with the superb fruit and quality oak, creating a fantastic symmetry for this absolutely delicious Rhone blend. A Rhone blend that would potentially have some Rhone producers buying up on this absolute little ripper. Drinking sensationally now.

Winemaker's Notes

On any given year we pick and ferment Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Cinsaut, and a host of other grape varieties to build a wine that we think best expresses the Barossa for that vintage year. A ripe and hedonistic example of a classic Rhône blend for your enjoyment.
