Dark as a coal mine at midnight. Rich as triple chocolate fudge cake, and with an intensity that lasts for ages...
Here we see a winemaker in full tilt 'luscious red' mode, delivering a deep and ripe McLaren Vale red that was purpose-built for ageing, having spent a huge 24 months in French oak. It's a winner with the critics too, landing 95 points from James Halliday (who praised the 'exceptional' line and length).
On the nose: Dark berry fruits, coffee and some cloves.
On the palate: Blueberry, blackberry and plum with a dash of spice to help define and accentuate the fruit. Silky tannins and sweet fruit complete a sumptuous palate.
