Cracka Review

The Tin Shed wines are literally made in the confines of a tin shed in a hand made and hands on approach, this is quite literally as small as small batch winemaking can be. Using the best fruit from the Eden Valley this is perfumed and sculpted Shiraz shows layered black fruit with a smooth mouthfeel that’s elegant and long. A red wine that shows delicacy and restraint and would suit food that’s lightly spiced.

Winemaker's Notes

We are fortunate to have access to some fantastic vineyards in the Eden Valley.

Predominately from a classic red dirt on a limestone soil vineyard in the north of the Eden Valley, which provides a core of black fruit and a luscious mouthfeel, the wine is finished by the elegant lifted fruit from a couple of vineyards high on the ridges of Eden Valley. It is this fruit that gives the wine its peppery almost medicinal lift and elegance.

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Powerful, intense and focused blackberry fruits with touches of spice and licorice from the cooler Eden Valley climate; persistent tannins; very good outcome for a challenging vintage
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the moderately intense bouquet has a traditional mix of earthy, red and black fruits and nicely handled French oak. The smooth and ripe, medium-bodied palate moves more towards the raspberry/plum spectrum, the oak once again well handled.
