This vineyard lies in the heart of The Adelaide Hills on Wenzel Rd south-east of Oakbank. David and Sue Cherry (nee O'Leary) planted this site in 1990. The Adelaide Hills is arguably one of the best regions in Australia for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The soil profile is brown loam with limestone and slate schist, contributing to good drainage and moderate vigour. The elevation of this cool climate region consistently offers a natural balanced acidity to this single vineyard wine.
Appearance: Pale yellow, with a pink tinge and fine bead.
Nose: Complex and toasty, hints of citrus with strawberry and brioche.
Palate: Finesse, balanced acidity with a nougat creamy palate and delicate finish.
Food Match: A great aperitif style, fabulous with lobster and crab.
