Cracka Review

Made from shiraz, this is a medium-bodied, quite fruity wine that shows red and black fruits on the nose with sniffs of black olives, meatiness and dried herbs. The palate is savoury and spicy with a black cherry heart, tight tannins, bright acidity, and a dry, slightly vanillian finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Visual: Very dark and deep

Nose: Hints of cherry and strawberry and delicate oak aromas

Palate: Tannic and massive wine. Aromas of cassis buds and vanilla

Food suggestions: Perfect with red meat (especially game) and cheeses.

2012 Guigal Crozes Hermitage Rouge

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2005 Vintage) says
Sourced from the hilly terrain on the Crozes area of the Northern Rhône, this syrah has meaty and sanguine aromas with bright and peppery red fruits. The palate is impressively structured with fine tannins throughout, and darker fruit flavours build through to a black mineral, graphite finish. Terrific value and style.
