Made by a famed more than 30-year-old winery in the 'dress circle' of Wilyabrup, this reserve wine is only released in the absolute finest vintages - such as 2012, which James Halliday rated 10/10.
Handpicked, open fermented and matured for 15 months in French oak, this has the winemaking chops to match some of the best fruit around. In the glass, it's a stunner - there's that ideal mix of power and grace, the firm tannins guaranteeing an extended life in the cellar, while the power of the dark cassis fruit makes this still immediately appealing. It's a perfect wine for this winter - and many more winters to come!
There's a long list of critical adulation for this wine too - 96 points from James Halliday and 96 points also from Ray Jordan, with even the points misers at The Wine Front giving this 94 points.
