Cracka Review

Ol' Malbec is on a bit of a roll lately, it's popularity driven by the ever more awesome Malbec wines of Argentina.

To celebrate all things Malbec then we've uncovered the best damned wine we can find - a red that recently picked up the Trophy for Best Argentinian Wine at the Hong Kong Wine & Spirits Awards, alongside a gold medal at the 2015 Decanter Wine Awards.

That beast is the 2013 Argento Reserva Mendoza Malbec and it is a blinder! Sourced from old vineyards up at a massive 950m above sea level this superb Malbec is deep dark violet in colour and offers powerful aromas of black stone fruit and notes of chocolate. Blackberry and black currant fruit flavours with a touch of sweet spice lead into a long lingering finish with ripe velvety tannins, it's a wonderfully concentrated red with a long and satisfying finish.

A deliciously flavoursome, black fruited Argentinian red, you can pick up some of this now at the sharpest price in the country (and in six packs)!

Winemaker's Notes

Deep purple in colour, this Malbec displays delicate aromas of violet, ripe plum and blackberry. Rich and full-bodied, the concentrated black fruit flavours intertwine with subtle notes of white pepper and cardamon. Structured tannins and a soft touch of vanilla and mocha lead into a long and velvety finish.
