2013 Ashbrook Estate Shiraz

Expert Reviews

Ray Jordan (2007 Vintage) says
A product of a very ripe arm year in Margaret River. It shows clearly in the wine which is soft and generous on the palate brimming with lush slightly savoury fruit that reveals some subtle spicy characters as well. A wine that is a joy to drink now but would handle a few more years in the cellar.

Expected colour development; the fragrant red fruit bouquet leads into a vibrant, medium-bodied palate with more of those red fruits, finishing with superfine tannins and a blessing of French oak.

In the typically elegant, light- to medium-bodied style of the estate; plum, blackberry, black cherry and spice flavours with a subtle infusion of French oak.

This is the best example of this variety yet from these guys. It's powerful but with finesse and poise displaying nice primary plummy fruit and a touch of complex savouriness. Right in the groove for the Margaret River style.
