2013 D'Arenberg d'Arry's Original Shiraz Grenache

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The original and still the best? This red sure shows what the Vale is all about, combining a pair of grapes that just deserve each other. Shiraz with it's pepper and sass, Grenache with it's sexy red fruit. Together, tonight when two grapes become one...

Winemaker's Notes

This wine displays a level of finesse and freshness that we don’t always encounter in other vintages of the same wine. In a somewhat surprising contrast to this, the wine also displays a dense and varied array of fruit characters, from bright lifted purple plums and rhubarb through to more spice and herbal notes such as sage and cardamom, into even more complex earthy flavours of beetroot and soot. These flavours are perfectly supported by a frame of fine, minerally tannins that add a subtle grip and enticingly long finish.

2013 D'Arenberg d'Arry's Original Shiraz Grenache

Expert Reviews

Bob Campbell MW (2013 Vintage) says
Chewy red with plenty of flavour and a solid structure of ripe tannins. Classic plum and raspberry Shiraz flavours, with a touch of spicy Grenache. The combination works well. Great now but no rush
