2013 De Iuliis Limited Release Shiraz
James Halliday says
Always limited to best-barrel selections from several sites to produce 250 dozen bottles. A precise rendition of the interaction between place and variety, the balance between fruit, oak and tannins is so perfect that it is hard to see where one finishes and the next starts. There's not an ounce of fat anywhere on the palate, just power and drive.
Jeremy Oliver says
Elegant, deeply flavoured and luscious, with a layered and peppery bouquet of musky violet-like scents over sweet aromas of cassis, raspberries, dark plums and cedar/vanilla oak. It’s velvet-smooth, elegant and polished, with a controlled, reserved presence of dark, spicy blackberries, cassis and dark plums tightly knit with fine-grained, newish oak and fine tannins. It finishes with the faintest herbal and metallic note, suggesting it’s not the vintage to cellar for the genuinely long term.
Huon Hooke says
Deepish purple/red colour, youthful looking and bright. The aroma is subtle but fresh and bright, while the palate is again subtle and fresh, soft and approachable, with mild tannins and a good degree of elegance. The wine is deliciously fine, elegant and subtle, with medium-weight and fine-grained tannins. A classy medium-bodied shiraz.
