2013 Gerard Bertrand Reserve Speciale Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This bonny little value Frenchie is made in a more old-fashioned style with plenty of oak, and would be great with a stuffed roast chook and veggies. Smells of ripe stone fruits, toast and subtle citrus rise from the glass, whilst the palate is more medium-bodied and toasty, with subtle peach and citrus flavours leading to a smooth, soft finish. Chill it down and it's good to go now.

Winemaker's Notes

This grape variety stands out by its noble aromas and the delicate wines it produces.

Fresh and flavoursome, this 100% Chardonnay comes from coastal vineyards and offers fresh notes of citrus, ripe apple and white flowers.

Serve with scallops, fish cooked in sauce, poultry and risottos.

Gérard Bertrand is passionate about the Mediterranean Art de Vivre and is a specialist producer of premium wines from the south of France. In his Réserve Spéciale range he reveals the elegant, generous array of fruity flavours produced by the very best terroirs in the region.

The exceptional terroirs of the Languedoc enjoy optimum sunshine and low rainfall, bringing out all the complexity of the region’s emblematic grape varieties and thus producing top-quality wines.
