A dessert style wine is not one you’d associate with the Henschke’s but no grapes go unused from their Eden Valley Vineyards. This is the style known as Botrytis Cinera whereby the vineyard develops a mould and the acids and sugars in the grapes achieve higher levels and ultimately more luscious. In Oz we affectionately refer to these wines as stickies and this version is amazingly aromatic. Rich with honey and citrus as well as vanilla crème brulee, these flavours are reflected on the palate with a lovely fulsome mouthfeel of apricot and citrus. Superb length on the finish as the sweetness makes way for cleansing acids.
Brilliant gold with green hues. Vibrant, complex aromas of honey, nectar, citrus rind and lemon curd with fragrant citrus blossom and frangipani florals. Apricot, citrus rind and lemon curd flavours provide richness while the balanced natural acidity offers beautiful purity for a deliciously long, textured and luscious finish.
