Winemaking:Shiraz and Viognier are co-fermented. Matured in new and single use French oak.
Appearance:The wine is a deep red/purple
On the nose:Rich, concentrated blackberry and black plum. Hints of licorice, dark chocolate, clove, five spice and vanilla bean. Wafting through the fruit aromas is a floral edge of violets.
On the palate: full bodied filling the palate with a raft of rich flavour. Fruit characters of blackberry, blackcurrant, plum and cassis flow effortlessly in the mouth with some bright, crunchy cranberry fruit lift further back. Hints of dark chocolate, deep set spice, vanillin, earth, roast beef and toasty oak. Lighter notes of apricot kernel, citrus peel and redcurrant also make a showing. Opulent, supple and showing fine balance the 2013 displays a great depth and fine tannins and lingers persistently with echoes of black & dark fruits and floral nuance.
