James Halliday (2014 Vintage) says
The purple-crimson colour is excellent, the wine living up to that promise; the spicy/peppery bouquet leads into a medium to full-bodied palate, black fruits, liquorice and pepper all on display. It is the structure of the tannins that clinch the deal: they are rounded and sewn into the fabric of the wine. This and the Leston are very different, but of equal quality.

The nose is gorgeous: black fruits and damp, rich earth. Across the palate it’s savoury, gripping and very sexy. It does things to the palate that really are very adult. 96 points and worth $46.

Matured in French barriques for 18 months. Bright purple-crimson; the wine travels a very different road to that of Leston; fresh, spicy and no more than mediumbodied, the bouquet is a symphony of red and black counterparts, the elegant palate silky smooth, and cruises through to a long finish and lingering finish.

Light to medium purple-red; a fragrant and lively wine that plays a symphony of red fruits, spice and a counterpoint of licorice; the tannins are fine, and line, length and balance are all impeccable.

Deep purple-crimson; the aromatic bouquet is in a different, darker-berried and more spicy tenor than the Leston, the palate more intense and focused, the flavours reaching every corner of the mouth. Will outlive many who taste it, notably myself.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Deep crimson-purple; while not sacrificing elegance, has the greatest volume of fruit of the three Shirazs, with blackberry, licorice and plum, that has swallowed the oak; a complete wine in every respect.

This single-vineyard red from Frankland River is one of WA's finest shirazes. The 2008 has a richness, concentration of ripe red-cherry and red-plum flavours and succulence that catches the attention. Drink now or cellar.

Campbell Mattinson (2005 Vintage) says
Howard Park has significant Margaret River digs but it was founded in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Many of its best reds are still made from Great Southern grapes. Scotsdale is one of its Great Southern vineyards. 2005 RELEASE It's a melodious, lip-smacking wine, the type that can easily have you skipping around the house singing merrily - or maybe that's just me. The thing is, it's tasty, spicy, smooth and dark, but it's sophisticated too. Filigreed tannin, bass notes of olive and aniseed, cedary oak and excellent length. It's one of my favourite wines of the year. DRINK 2012-2018.

Brightly coloured and clean, this is a super-elegant and refined wine with great length and intensity. Spice and black fruits have absorbed the French oak, the tannins perfect.

Excellent colour; fragrant spicy, peppery black fruits; long, intense palate; great balance and style; flavour with finesse.

Medium to full red-purple; a fragrant, almost flowery, bouquet with spicy berry aromas, then an elegant but intense and perfectly poised palate. Here the driver is the red cherry fruit; the tannins are supple, the oak exemplary.
