2013 Indian Pacific Sauvignon Blanc
Winemaker Ben Riggs describes this Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc as ‘fresh’, ‘beautiful to taste’ and ‘crisp’. He’s absolutely right.
The Indian Pacific Wine Company brings together a selection of wines from the great wine regions of Australia. These wine regions are linked by the Indian Pacific railroad that stretches across Australia from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the world’s great rail adventures.
From South Australia’s premium cool climate grape growing region, the Adelaide Hills, this Sauvignon Blanc is selected from the Battunga Vineyard, located in the Kuitpo region of the southern Mount Lofty ranges. Cane pruned on VPS trellising, the vines were planted on their own roots back in 1997.
Made by Ben Riggs and his winemaking team, this wine displays freshly cut spring grass and sage on the nose, with citrus and passionfruit sweetness on the mid palate. The wine shows fine balance, flinty and crisp minerals with a clean fresh finish.
