Cracka Review

No doubting the appeal with this full bodied Chardonnay - the sort of classically ripe, peachy, golden Chardonnay championed in the Hunter Valley, yet also with the acidity that modern clever Chardonnays show. The end result is a lovely full bodied white of power, weight and complexity.

2013 James Estate Reserve Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Vibrant green hue; a fine bouquet of nectarine, citrus blossom and a suggestion of toasty oak; the palate is fleshy and generous, with soft acidity and a long toasty finish.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Relatively early picking has helped preserve freshness in a well-balanced, fruit-driven style.
Australian Wine Companion 2010 2009
James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Bright and clear light to medium-yellow-green; the bouquet has complex barrel-ferment aromas well-integrated with the fruit; again, the palate is elegant, with fruit and oak well balanced and some appealing creamy cashew characters. Barrel fermented in new French and American oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2004 2003
James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium to full yellow-green; the bouquet offers full, ripe melon and peach fruit with well-balanced and integrated oak. The palate follows logically on the path of the bouquet, with some nice creamy notes on the mid-palate followed by a touch of acidity on the finish to round the wine off.
