2013 KarriBindi Margaret River Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This is a fuller style of Chardy out of Margaret River that has seen some generous oak that doesn’t do a 'hit and run' on the fruit. Aromas of white stone fruits, grapefruits, buttered toast and creamed nuts rise from the glass, whilst the palate is quite rich and fruity, with a decent zip of lemony acidity, a rounded, creamy textured mouthfeel, and a toasty, juicy finish. Roast chook is the go with this one!

Winemaker's Notes

Our Chardonnay is estate grown and was hand picked before being gently pressed as whole bunches. The balanced use of French oak integrates texture and structure to support the bright and delicate flavours of the fruit.

The palate reveals fresh zesty lemon and juicy white peach with subtle hints of almond and brioche. This is an elegant Margaret River Chardonnay that finishes with minerality and succulent natural acidity.

2013 KarriBindi Margaret River Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Wine Companion (2013 Vintage) says
Hand-picked, whole bunch-pressed, fermented and matured in French barriques (40% new), a deserved gold medal Adelaide Wine show '14. In the deceptively light style of KarriBindi, despite its new oak; deceptive because this is a chardonnay that is all about length, marrying intensity with finesse; has flirted with sauvignon blanc crossover, but no more than that.
