As the weather gets cooler it’s the reds in your cellar that tend to get a workout and what could be more comforting on a cool winter’s night than a Barossa blend that’s as familiar as a loved one’s kiss? Okay, we may be stretching that a bit far but if you want a wine that’s going to give you bags of flavour then this drop from Langmeil is just the ticket. It’s full of ripe fruit with great structure showing cherries, blackberries, chocolate & spice all woven together by fine tannins. Nicely balanced it finishes long.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Medium depth crimson with purple hues

Aroma: Lifted, fresh and bright fruit leaps out of the glass with raspberry and blood plums dominating the aroma with subtle savoury and white pepper hints

Palate: The bright and juicy fruit coats the palate and is well balanced with peppery and sweet spice. Medium bodied in structure with good complexity and lovely silky tannins which flow through the fruitful and spicy finish

A 48/29/23% blend from three districts in the Barossa Valley, the vines 10-90yo, matured for 12 months in used French and American oak. Shiraz is the most important contributor with its black fruits contrasting with the red and purple of the mataro and grenache, oak and tannins of minimal importance in establishing style.

It finishes with a lingering core of fruit and a licorice-like note.
