Saint Veran is another village the Burgundians like to name their wines after. This one is made from chardonnay and is completely unoaked to let the fruit shine. Lots of green apples and lemons leap out of the glass, whilst the palate is lighter-bodied, crisp and clean, with apple and citrus flavours, a touch of creaminess, and a bright, talcy finish. Excellent with some soft cheese and crackers.
The resulting wine is very dry, delicate and youthful, pale straw-gold in color and with a subtle nutty flavor which lends the wine a soft roundness.
It is refreshing as an aperitif. It will also be a good partner for hors d'oeuvre, delicately flavoured charcuteries, oysters, fish, snails and andouillettes.
