Here we have a highly sippable Sangiovese/Merlot blend that is the entry level wine for Mazzei. It's full of cherries, earthy savouriness and blackberries on the nose, whilst the palate is medium-bodied, dry and elegant, with a dark cherry centre, fine and friendly tannins, and a bright, subtle fruited finish. An excellent food wine with lamb ragu or lasagne.

Winemaker's Notes

Coming from high-altitude vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico, surrounding a X Century Romanic church, it greatly combines the finesse of the freshest Sangiovese with the structure and the smoothness of the Merlot.

Grape varieties: 70% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot.

Wine Description: Elegant, fresh red berry flavours, velvety, aromatic and supple.

Food Pairing: Cold cuts, pasta with meat/game sauce, pizza, big grilled fish, pot roast.

Alc/vol: 13.03%

Refined and silky with juicy fruit. Plenty of ripe plum and berry character. Hints of almond and nut undertones. Full body, soft tannins and a flavourful finish. Excellent value. Real Tuscan wine at a wonderful price. Drink now.
