Clare Valley not only turns out excellent Riesling, they also do a pretty good job with medium-bodied reds too. This offering shows appealing & attractive smells of pepper and cinnamon spice, cassis, and a hint of deli-meat savouriness before the palate chimes in with a solid but fine thread of tannins, poised acidity, and a bit of richness to the long fruit and spice finish.
This wine has a lifted violet and raspberry fruit bouquet with nuances of vanillin oak due to American oak maturation, a hint of pepper and spices. It is rounded and full-bodied with firm tannins and dark cherry and ruby berries. A perfect match for a hearty meat dish!
