    cracka review

The 2013 Mystery Premium Hunter Valley Reserve Shiraz is reminiscent of many of the Hunter's best over the years, with layer after layer of earthy, leather armchair fruits. This really is a wine for the serious Shiraz lover. It's from a masterful winemaker, one of the original Hunter vineyards and a huge Hunter name, but most importantly - it's seriously delicious.

The 2013 Mystery Premium Hunter Valley Reserve Shiraz has promise from the moment it's poured in the glass, it's bright garnet in colour and strikingly perfumed. On the palate redcurrant, black cherry, spice and dusty leather tannins swarm together, layering and lingering on the long finish. This is a masterful and elegant Hunter Shiraz and it's obvious it will go gloriously far - conservatively to 2038, in fact.

    winemaker's notes

Dark purple in colour, this Shiraz is medium-bodied with a core of red fruits, spice and finely grained tannins, ending with a long finish. The aromas are complex but subtle, with red fruits, spice, a touch of savouriness and typical Hunter earthiness.
