2013 Pirramimma Stocks Hill Cabernet Merlot

Cracka Value Rating

Cracka Review

If you said you liked red wine, what would be your favoured drop? We think that it’s impossible to beat the combination of rich, juicy Merlot and the structured backbone of Cabernet. So here’s what we think you’ll like, the Pirramimma red blend from the McLaren Vale. This is all class in a glass from 20-year-old vines that shows plum and berry aromas on the nose before a nicely complex palate of fruit, tannin and acids held together in one harmonious heap.

Winemaker's Notes

The long cool summer was ideal for the early ripening Merlot and the later picked Cabernet Sauvignon, with both parcels delivering distinctive varietal character. The 2013 Cabernet Merlot displays a bouquet of red cherry, blackberry and violets with hints of spicy oak, on the palate ripe blackcurrant, Mariposa plum, quince and chocolate notes are complemented by hints of pomegranate and subtle toasted oak. A rich firmly structured wine with fruit, oak and tannins in harmony.

Drink now or until 2020 under right cellaring conditions.
