    cracka review

Hailing from McLaren Vale, this is a 'big boy on a Harley' style of red that is full of rich and ripe dark cherries and assorted berries on the nose, along with a decent whiff of toasty oak, mocha and licorice. The palate is full-bodied at 14.9% alcohol, with sweet and softish fruit flavours, approachable tannins, and a kick of chocolate and coffee on the decent finish. Drink over the next 4 to 5 years with some rare roast meats.

    winemaker's notes

The 2013 Grenache Shiraz Mataro exhibits aromas of blackberry, raspberry, spicy plum and toffee apple, with hints of pomegranate and pepper. On the palate this rich intense wine displays spicy mulberry, ripe red cherry, Christmas pudding and chocolate notes, complemented by a seam of cranberry and star anise. A beautifully balanced wine, with fruit, subtle oak and tannin in harmony. Drink now or until 2020 under the right cellaring conditions.
