2013 Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon

Expert Reviews

Angus Hughson (2008 Vintage) says
Deep colour. Reserved dark fruit with classic Coonawarra lift. Dry, surprisingly mouthfilling with some very ripe fruit flavours and new oak finishing with quite fine but firm tannins and outstanding length
Tyson Stelzer (2008 Vintage) says
Black Label is on the ascent once more, after some drastic measures with a chainsaw in the vineyards to bring it out of its dip earlier this decade. It's back on form as an accurate Coonawarra cabernet, balancing primary blackcurrant fruit definition with liquorice and well-handled oak. A seamless, supple tannin texture and lively acidity keep it level.v
James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
The wine seems to have been around forever, and so it has: this is the 53rd vintage. It is barrel-aged in French oak, 31% new, and comes from the top 25% of the available cabernet resources of Wynns. It is rich and luscious, with blackcurrant and dark chocolate aromas and flavours, the palate lengthened and strengthened by ripe yet fine tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2012
Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
A long-term, deeply flavoured and profoundly structured red of depth and balance. Scented with a violet-like perfume of cassis, mulberries and fresh, gamey cedar/vanilla oak backed by dusty nuances of dried herbs, it's supple, elegant and deeply flavoured. Dripping with deeply ripened cabernet fruit with gamey, meaty and earthy undertones, it's tightly complemented by fine oak and supported by firm, fine and drying tannins.

Closed as young wines with good extract and great balance
