Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; a complex ; wine with more or less equal contributions from lively fruit and quality French oak; the result is a layered wine, enjoyable now or in a few years, and made for generous food.

Striking label, Yering in bold type, the name recalling the 19th-century heydays of the Yarra Valley; as yet, the wine is wrapped up in swaddling clothes, barely able to make itself heard. All lies in the future.

The further you descend the Yering tree, the more fruit you find and the less the woodwork gets in the way. Here it's all about Yarra Valley Chardonnay (100%) in all its white peach, grapefruit and creamy glory. Great value.
