Cracka Review

This 2014 Butler Crest Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon redefines what you can get for your hard earned dollars - we're talking about a single vineyard red, with 95 points from James Halliday and a gold medal to its name, superb!

Praised by Halliday for its 'ample blackcurrant/cassis fruit, balanced tannins and subtle French oak' this impeccably proportioned, medium-bodied red is just primed to live for a long time in the cellar. It's a wine to drink now or in another decades time (if you can keep your hands off it)!

Winemaker's Notes

Each parcel of fruit is gently crushed and transferred into small open fermenters. Heading down boards keep the cap submerged for better skin contact. The fermenters are temperature controlled to provide optimum conditions. Gentle extraction is achieved by the draining of wine from the skins and returning back over. Wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for maturation.

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2014 Vintage) says
Estate-grown, matured in French oak. Offers very good varietal and regional expression, with ample blackcurrant/cassis fruit, balanced tannins and subtle French oak on the medium to full-bodied palate. Sure fire development ahead. Gold medal WA Wine Show '15.
