Winery:On May 25, 1935, the day of market at Monsegur, a handful of winegrowers enjoyed a glass of white wine at Café du Commerce. They discussed their difficulties at this time of wine crisis and their inability to achieve the hardware purchases necessary to the culture of the vine and the vinication. This day, the bet is initiated to pool their financial and human resources to work together.
The following year, fiteen pioneers will join the union to form the Cooperative of Monsegur and bring their first harvest. Seeing the qualitative and economic success of this action, other winemakers soon join this group. Since then, the Winery of Monsegur has continued to evolve, adapting regularly its vineyard and its equipment. It has today nearly 200 members strongly attached to the quality of their products, but also and above all to their personal relationship. 1935 is a tribute to those men and women who created «Les Vignerons Réunis de Monsegur», a wine just like the cooperative and its values : quality and conviviality, combined with a subtle blend of tradition and innovation.
Nose:This wine expresses itself thanks to sweet aromas and red fruits notes. The nose is fresh and expressive, to introduce a mouth within roundness.
Palate:The tannins bring a good structure, for a well balanced wine.
Blend:65%Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc
Vinification:Traditional in stainless Steel Tank. Maceration 12 to 18 days Controlled temperature at 25°C
Food Match:To enjoy it all the way : for example with duck in sauce or lamb meat, but also with desserts, such as chocolate.
