Cracka Review

The Redstone in the label refers to the red coloured ironstone found in the soil at Coriole in the McLaren Vale, this stone is also part of the old brick buildings at the winery dating back to 1860. This is the essence of the region and the kind of Cabernet we love. Laden with black fruit and full of choc malt flavours, it’s soft and gentle on the palate and complements rich dishes like lamb shanks or beef bourguignon.

Winemaker's Notes

The Redstone range is produced from Coriole's own estate vineyards and other selected sites in the McLaren Vale Region. The name comes from the distinctively coloured ironstone so common in the vineyards and buildings at Coriole.

Medium- to full-bodied; positive varietal character from start to finish, the blackcurrant supported by positive tannins; needs a year or two in peace.

Fennel-like bouquet and a thick, rich, complex palate brimming over with ripe fruit flavours, balanced by some attractive dusty, toasty oak.

Dark chocolate and blackcurrant vie with each other from the outset, the first proclaiming the region, the second the variety.
