Cracka Review

A lovely, floral and pretty Riesling this one, drawn from the Southern Otways - which is a positively frosty (but beautiful) part of the world. Built quite firm and dry, this very sprightly wine is wonderfully dry and long with the sort of spine tingling acidity that every cool climate Riesling should have. Lovely wine.

Winemaker's Notes

Made from 100% Riesling in a dry style.

Appearance: Mid straw with light gold hues.

Nose: Lemon, lime, white peach and ground hazelnut characters.

Palate: The acidity of the wine provides freshness and structure while also contributing a mouthwatering sensation as you taste the wine. It opens with lemon, lime and grapefruit flavours. In the mid-palate the wine softens with stone fruit characters appearing, then fennel spice characters emerge on the back palate. Lemon flavours linger in the aftertaste.

Serving Suggestions: This wine matches well with all forms of seafood as well as vegetarian and spicy dishes. It adores Japanese dishes such as sushi and sashimi. Ideally suited to pork, poultry and veal dishes, it will also work well with creamy cheeses, such as camembert or brie, and hard cheeses such as cheddar.

Huon Hooke (2014 Vintage) says
Very fragrant, lifted aromatics. Very limy and fruity - the perfume is on a different level with this vintage. A superb wine, delicate, refined and delicious. Great finesse. They have really captured all of the aromas in the bottle with this vintage.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; crisp and clean, with citrus and apple fruit, and a bone-dry finish.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Pale straw-green; a very tight and precise wine folded in on itself with lemon and apple flavours enhanced by minerally acidity. Demands time.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Spicy, intense and lingering, with excellent focus and length.
