2014 Garagiste Merricks Chardonnay
James Halliday (2014 Vintage) says
Usual Mornington Peninsula vinification for a wine of unusual quality. There is a sleight of hand to the way these Garagiste Chardonnays are made that turns on the acidity of the wines and the use of partial mlf. The wine has a brightness that is almost, but not quite, fierceness. A captivating style. 152 dozen made.
Campbell Mattinson (2014 Vintage) says
This is fine. This is long. It has a fleshy mid-palate but it’s the sling through the finish that defines it. What a ripper. It needs another year or, even better, two to start showing its best but it’s a fine, well honed, well balanced, nutty chardonnay with length to burn.2017-2021
