2014 Guigal Cotes du Rhone Blanc

Cracka Value Rating

Cracka Review

As ever a rather ripe, flattering expression of a Rhone white, the emphasis on texture and fruit weight for immediate drinking. The archetype really.

Winemaker's Notes

Visual: Bright and clear gold

Odour: Very distinct aromas of white flowers, apricot, acacia and white peach

Palate: Fruity wine with lots of wealth

Food suggestions: Fish and Asian cuisine.

Wine Advocate (2015 Vintage) says
Another terrific white is the 2015 Côtes du Rhône Blanc, a cuvée that continues to over-deliver in just about every vintage. Tasting like a top-flight Condrieu with its tangerine, honey and floral aromas and flavours, it’s pure, elegant and impeccably balanced on the palate.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2013 Vintage) says
A great vintage for whites, the 2013 Cotes du Rhone Blanc (mostly Viognier) has outstanding notes of white peach and tangerine to go with an elegant, seamless style on the palate. It’s a smoking value to drink over the coming 1-2 years. #216 - Dec 2014
Ken Gargett (2005 Vintage) says
This is one that sneaks under the radar, largely because its red sibling is produced in quantities sufficient to sweep all before it. (You might still find some of the 2003 red lurking in bottleshops and if you do, grab it. Get less excited over the 2004.) This will be harder to find but is worth a look. Lots of nuts, stone fruit, citrus and spice characters—something different, and the best vintage of this wine I've seen.
