Cracka Review

There's a good whack of lemons and limes on the nose, with just a suggestion of vanilla oak, whilst the palate is light to medium-bodied and rounded, with zesty flavours, bright acidity, and a crisp, very dry finish. Ideal with fish and poultry dishes.

Light straw-green; stood up to the heat, but the sauvignon blanc didn't (until '09 the two were blended), henceforth there will be 100 cases a year of semillon, a thoroughly justified decision, for this is a thoroughly good semillon, bursting with juicy citrus flavours, and a long, clean finish.

Generously flavoured;picked before the heat and made without artifice or oak; as honest as they come.

Solid Barossa Valley Semillon, looking to the past as much as to the future, but has flavour without phenolics.

The genial Steve Hoff has excelled himself with this bold, complex white from the outstanding 2005 vintage. There are some fascinating leesy characters, which give additional interest to this bright, vibrant white from the Marananga district of the Barossa.

Good structure and depth to the grassy/lemony fruit; not phenolic.

We love letting you know about small wineries which make terrific wines and sell them for reasonable prices - even if these wines are not widely available. Steve Hoff's Heritage Wines is based at Marananga in the Barossa Valley. This is a sensational oaky semillon with fresh lemony flavours, good weight, power and an impressive dry finish. Perfect with char-grilled whiting.

Exemplary green-yellow colour; both the bouquet and palate offer juicy/lemony fruit in an appealing, early drinking style.
