2014 James Estate Reserve Hunter Rose

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Here we have a dry, more textural style of Rosé - made in a style to mimic that of the French provincial style. Made from Cabernet Franc sourced in the Hunter Valley, it's light & vibrant with a real strawberries & cream character. Serve simply as a aperitif or match it with something spicy like chorizo.

Winemaker's Notes

Oak treatment: 50% of the blend spent 8 months in one year old French oak with the balance of the blend being un-oaked.

Cellaring: Drinking beautifully now and will age well in the short to medium term.

Appearance: Vibrant pale pink.

Nose: Lifted aromas of raspberry, rose hip and licorice with hints of spice and nougat.

Palate: Ripe fruit characters with savoury, textural elements and finishes with mouth-watering acidity.

Serve: Chilled 6° – 10°C

Alc/vol: 13.5%
