Cracka Review

Made by a bunch of Aussies who travel to Argentina each year to make this wine, it is certainly a little different to the usual muscular Malbecs you get out of the country. It's more medium-bodied in style, and shows appealing sniffs of red fruits and blueberries on the nose, along with some hints of mocha and purple florals. The palate is fruity, rich and relatively smooth, with fine chocolaty tannins, poised acidity, and a kick of spice in the decent finish. Excellent for around the BBQ whilst you cook up some steaks.

Winemaker's Notes

Rose water and violet characters are underpinned by red berry aromas of sweet cherry and chocolate. Bright cherry and chocolate flavours carry onto the palate and combine with well integrated oak. The mouth feel is fine and delicate, supported by fine ripe tannins. Medium-bodied in style with an elegant finish.

Mendoza is famous for producing the world finest Malbec. While wine has been made in Mendoza for over 400 years, only recently, have the higher and cooler vineyard sights in the Uco Valley been identified as some of the best. The cooler climate fosters the development of the bright cherry flavours in this wine and provides a fine tannin structure.
