Made by Kevin Mitchell and the Shiraz dream team at Kilikanoon, this dark red coloured beauty has all of it's ducks in a row. There's rich, plummy fruit from ripe South Aussie fruit, set against a backdrop of French oak and with light tannins to finish. Unfiltered and with a 'compote of dark orchard fruit' according to the winemakers (doesn't that sound good!), this is primo juicy Aussie Shiraz with warmth and heart.
Shiraz is the Red Heart of the Australian wine industry, offering some of the world's greatest expressions of the variety. South Australian Shiraz is widely regarded and respected internationally, this wine pays homage to the history and enduring nature of this variety, first brought to South Australia in 1839.
Low yielding grapes from premium vineyard sites across South Australia were selected and gently vinified in a traditional manner, before French oak treatment.
Unfiltered, this bright red wine displays aromas of ripe plum, dark cherry and a hint of spice, leading to a compote of dark orchard fruit flavours supported with fine silky tannins and balanced acidity.
Immediately approachable, this wine will also develop over time.
