2014 Marc Bredif Vouvray

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Vouvrays are some of the best value wines on the planet. They are a bit like semillon, and can live for years! Bredif is one of the premium producers of the style, and this one is a dry, zippy wine that shows aromas of yellow citrus, quince, green apples, honeysuckle and camomile florals, whilst the palate is lighter-bodied with racy lemon, grapefruit and apple flavours, bouncy acidity, and a dry, long, talcy textured finish. These wines are great with grilled fish or creamy pasta dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

Marc Bredif has been one of the most famous Vouvray and Chinon houses since 1893. Owner and operator Baron Patrick de Ladoucette believes quality is the key to all Ladoucette wines, from the vineyard to the state of the art winery in the landmark Chateau du Nozet and finally to the bottle.

The wine is a brilliant pale gold. On the nose, there is a fine bouquet full aromas of white flowers and yellow fruit such as pears. One finds citrus notes such as grapefruit. The attack is gentle with a lovely vivacity where one finds agreeable notes of grapefruit on the lingering finish. It is a lovely wine, ripe and refreshing.
