Tempranillo is not only a wine of great drinkability and style, but it's also fantastic with a range of foods from game birds through to beef. This offering out of the Clare Valley shows lots of juicy red fruits on the nose and palate, with hits of curry spices and toasted vanilla. It's all supported by medium-bodied styling, fine sandy tannins, and a decent spiced fruit finish.
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
The colour is not deep, but the hue is remarkably, fresh, perhaps due to spending over 2 years in French oak and tank. It is light-bodied, with typical cherry flavours, plus a twist of lemon on the finish. Good value. To 2016Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition
Crafted in typical Mr Mick style, this wine has subtle French oak flavours with smooth tannins, distinctive varietal character of cherries and strawberries, a hint of spice and a long lingering finish.
