Mr Tipple has delivered again, with a stunning full bodied Barossa Giant! Mr Tipple's unique ability to sniff out amazing parcels of fruit has landed us a wine that comes from a very famous, cult-producer-in-the-making, winery with two of the hottest youngish talents in the Barossa at the helm. The wine is a very special blend of premium Barossa Shiraz declassified from barrels of their top $70 reds.
Normally that's not particularly exciting, but given that one of the '13 vintage releases from this producer scored a mighty 97 points from James Halliday - and even their basic wines score 94 points - you can begin to grasp why there is plenty of enthusiasm here...
This elegant, deeply-coloured Barossa Valley Shiraz has a nose of plum, bramble and black cherry underlain with a dusting of spice. Maturation in oak gives great structure to the generous medium to full-bodied palate, with layers of blackcurrant, bramble and warming spice. Drinking beautifully now and good cellaring potential for those with strength of will.
