Cracka Review

Marlborough Sauv Blanc best drunk in the nude.

Oh yes, you would want to drink this in the nude. But that would be very rude.

You could drink it in a hat. Or sitting on a mat. It would taste great, no matter where you sat.

Organic and pesticide free, it's as pure as can be. So deliciously snappy, it will make everyone happy.

This Sauv Blanc has many a fan, 'lively' and 'crisp' according to Raymond Chan. Seems everybody loves it, both woman and man.

A real favourite at Cracka HQ, where we've drained a bottle or two, this Sauv is frisky, and selling briskly!

Now down to the final cases, with none left in the usual places, you'll need to act fast, because this Sauv won't last!

Winemaker's Notes

This vibrant Sauvignon Blanc wine, exudes sweet almost floral citrus, gooseberry, tropical and passion fruit, layered with sage and fresh varietal herbal aromas. The same varietal and fruit flavours found on the nose, are joined with a hint of nettles and a juicy minerality on the wine’s crisp yet balanced palate. This medium bodied dry white wine, gives you everything you would expect from a classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, but with just enough restraint to add class and intrigue. Some suggestions include vegetarian, chicken, fish, and seafood dishes, especially if dressed with cream or cheese based sauces and accompanied with side salad. This wine was made with minimal intervention and following organic winemaking practices. The resulting wine therefore showcases the terroir of the unique Patriarch vineyard, situated in the upper Wairau valley.

expert reviews about

2014 Naked Vine Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Raymond Chan (2014 Vintage) says
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless. This has a fresh, light, positive nose with tightly bound aromas of gooseberry fruit with notes of green apples, subtle nuances of passionfruit, and chalky minerals. Dry to taste and light-bodied, the palate is lively, crisp and racy with mouthwatering flavours of fresh herbs, gooseberries and green apples. The wine follows a light softly textural line, the mouthfeel balanced and elegant. Passionfruit elements emerge and carry through to a dry, lingering finish. This is a light, soft-textured and mouthwatering Sauvignon Blanc. Serve as an aperitif and with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Patriarch’ vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc
